I have a job and a family to come to when I need them….
I am not sure where to start this story. I previously worked at JFK Airport and Buffalo International Airport as a part-time Passenger Servicer Agent. I realized that I was interested in a call center job. Here I am at CMS. The training with Stephanie was fun, and it was enjoyable to be in that class. On my first day on the phone, I was very nervous because I had no call center experience. I am very proud to say that the management team helped me come out of my shell, and I am very happy that I have a job and a family to come to when I need them. I do recommend CMS to my family and friends. It’s a great place to work! Thank you to CMS for giving me a chance, and for letting me tell my story. I wish everyone best of luck.
We’re not just a company we are family…
My name is Cathelma Ray. On August 15, 2003, I was given the opportunity to be a part of the CMS family. My life changed forever on that day. I was hired as a Collections Representative. I was very nervous because I had never done collections before. I went through two weeks of training, and my trainer was very helpful and very understanding. He spent one on one time with me and taught me all about collections. After the two weeks of training, I went to my assigned department, where I started my career as a Collections Specialist. My Manager and Director were also very helpful. They made sure to sit with me, and were there to answer any questions I had. They are very friendly and always motivate us to be our best. After just two months, I received my first bonus check. I was so excited! 15 years later, I am still here and am very happy to be part of the CMS family. When I come to work, I feel good about myself. We’re not just a company, we are a family that cares about one another who strive to be the best we can at assisting people.
The owner was talking to me about coming to work for CMS
The first time I walked into Capital Management Services was not to apply for a job, but to try and make a catering sale for the company I was working for at the time. I had a meeting set up to give my sales pitch to one of the owners. I thought it was going well, and really thought I was going to sign CMS as a catering customer. By the end of the meeting, the owner suggested coming to work for CMS. At that point, I had just graduated from college, and didn't think I had anything to lose. I quit my job at the catering company and started at CMS. By the second month, I had earned a bonus and each month after that, my bonuses just kept increasing. They sky was the limit and, with every time I reached a first time fee, I was motivated to hit the next one. This past May marked my 12th year with the company. I would have to say that working at CMS changed my life and has allowed me to create a great life for my family.
I have been a part of watching CMS grow…
My story begins 15 years ago. I had heard that Capital Management had opened. I had several friends who worked there, so I made the call. I had my interview and waited for my call back. Surprise! I got the call back and the job. I will let you know what I’ve experienced working here for over 15 years. I’ve made over a million calls! As the phone is ringing, you never know what’s about to happen. I look at every call as a challenge and an opportunity. I have seen many people start with no collection experience and succeed. Through the years, we have also had our tragedies, and CMS as a family comes together when it is needed - to help our co-workers and those in the community, hence the term “CMS Family”. I have watched CMS grow to what it is today, and will continue to be a part of the CMS Family. .
